Israeli movie director to shoot HBO-Keshet show on Hezbollah commander's assassination
First season of show based on book on Israel's target assassinations zooms in on key CIA-Mossad op
New-York based Israeli movie director Yuval Adler will write and direct the first season of a new show based on a best-selling book about Israel's target assassination program, Deadline reported on Thursday.
The show, produced by HBO and Keshet International, will be based on a best-selling book Rise And Kill First, written by Yedioth Ahronoth's investigative journalist Ronen Bergman.
The first season will be focused on a joint CIA-Mossad operation that saw Hezbollah co-founder and key military leader Imad Mughniyeh killed in a car bomb blast in Damascus.
The hit followed a years-long manhunt for a most-wanted terrorist that was behind kidnappings and terror raids on Israel's border with Lebanon and the bombing attacks on US troops and embassy in Lebanon.
He also was the architect of the bomb attack on the Jewish community in Buenos Aires and a close ally to Qasem Soleimani -- the powerful leader of Iran's expeditionary Quds force who was killed in a US drone strike in early January.
Yuval Adler is the director of Bethlehem, a thriller-drama released in 2013 focused on the relations between a Shin Bet -- Israeli domestic security agency -- operative and his Palestinian informant.
The show will be the second joint product of HBO and Keshet, the first one being Our Boys, a controversial miniseries about the murder of a Palestinian teenager in revenge killing of three Jews, which hit the screens in 2019.
