Fares in each direction will start at $84 on its Airbus A320 aircraft.

The flight from Düsseldorf to Tel Aviv is 4 hours and 30 minutes while the return flight takes 4 hours and 55 minutes. The flight will leave Tel Aviv at 9:30 a.m. and return at 3 p.m. on Mondays, and leave at 9 a.m. and return at 2 p.m. Thursdays.

The first flight is scheduled for January 10.

TUS also operates a route between Tel Aviv and Larnaca, Cyprus, where the airline is headquartered.

Düsseldorf in western Germany is known as the country's fashion capital and is also a center of international business and finance.

German startup Tel Aviv Air in July announced the launch of direct flights between Israel and Hamburg that will operate twice weekly.

The route will take about four-and-a-half hours one way with no competition. El Al, Israir, and easyJet operate Tel Aviv-Berlin routes but don't currently fly from Ben Gurion Airport to Hamburg, a major port city in northern Germany.
