Progressive US congresswomen Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez, Ilhan Omar, Ayanna Pressley and Rashid Tlaib won their 2020 re-elections by comfortable margins, US media reported Wednesday.

The four Democrats, all women of color and dubbed the "Squad,” represent a pull to the left in the Democratic party. Besides touting progressive domestic policies, they have also spearheaded efforts to condition aid to Israel with settlement activity in the West Bank.

The four have been staunch opponents of US President Donald Trump, who is seeking re-election in a contentious race, the votes of which are still being counted.

New York’s Ocasio-Cortez won New York’s 17th district against Republican John Cummings with over 65 percent voting for her so far. She reportedly spent $10 million less on the campaign than Cummings.

"Thank you to the Bronx & Queens for re-electing me to the House despite the millions spent against us, & trusting me to represent you once more," tweeted Ocasio-Cortez.

Palestinian-American Rashida Tlaib, of Michigan’s 13th district, won with over 65 percent of votes counted so far against Republican David Dudenhoefer.

Ilhan Omar, an immigrant from Somalia running for re-election in Minnesota’s fifth district, won with twice as many votes so far as Republican Lacy Johnson.

Ayanna Pressley of Massachusetts’ 7th district won against independent Roy Owens with almost 90 percent of the ballots counted.
