Homeland Security agents search Ilhan Omar's home amid criminal investigation - report
Omar is up for re-election in November as part of the US midterm elections

Homeland Security Investigations (HSI) agents searched the home of Democratic Representative Ilhan Omar of Minnesota on Monday as part of a criminal investigation, according to an Associated Press report.
The exact reasons for the investigation remain unclear, but Homeland Security Secretary Markwayne Mullin said last month that there was an "ongoing investigation" and "something's going to happen."
Omar is up for re-election in November as part of the US midterm elections. Justice Department protocols caution against overt law enforcement actions that could influence public opinion in the weeks leading up to an election.
Omar has frequently drawn criticism from Republicans, with US Vice President JD Vance has accused her of immigration fraud, an allegation she has denied.
Omar has been a vocal critic of Israel in the US House of Representatives since her election in 2018.
