Macklemore launches a European tour called "Free Palestine Tour"

American rapper Macklemore announced a new European concert tour Thursday, days after his comments about Israel sparked controversy. The “Free Palestine Tour” currently includes three shows: Dublin on October 26, Paris on October 29 and London on October 30.
Macklemore presented the tour as a response to the fallout from his public stance. In a message posted on X, he wrote, “What happened to me goes beyond any artist or stage.” He argued that the controversy raised broader questions about who gets a platform, accusing the “billionaire class” of having the power to decide which voices are heard and which are considered too dangerous.
The rapper also said that all proceeds from the three concerts would be donated to organizations supporting “the Palestinian people and the Palestinian movement.” His announcement did not name the organizations that would receive the money or provide further details about how the proceeds would be distributed.
The tour announcement follows controversy over statements Macklemore made while opening for British singer Ed Sheeran. Sheeran removed Macklemore from his tour after those remarks.
