NASA plans to build a "Moon Base" for long-term missions

It is official: NASA is entering the real estate business. In a post on X, the official NASA account wrote, "We're building a Moon Base!" According to the space agency, the base will serve as a habitat for astronauts to "live and work during long-term science missions."
NASA says robotic missions will work alongside astronauts to study the Moon and help prepare for future Mars missions.
The moon base will be a part of their Artemis moon exploration program. The program was formally established under President Donald Trump's first term back in 2017. Earlier this year, Artemis II sent four astronauts on a lunar flyby, becoming the first crewed flight beyond low Earth orbit since the Apollo program
