Report: Pentagon pushes for funding to support Iran operations, replenish munitions
The report comes as U.S. Secretary of War Pete Hegseth said the Iranians were miscalculating badly if they believed that the Americans were running out of munitions

Pentagon officials are working on plans to restock the U.S. weapons used during the past week of fighting the Islamic Republic, the Wall Street Journal reported on Thursday citing people familiar with the discussions.
The initiative is understood to form part of a broader effort by the administration of President Donald Trump to ramp up missile production in the years ahead.
Congressional lawmakers and defense industry officials are anticipating a Pentagon request for additional war funding, according to WSJ. People familiar with the discussions say the money would go toward acquiring Patriot, Tomahawk, and THAAD missile systems that have been used extensively since U.S. and Israeli strikes began last Saturday.
The report comes as U.S. Secretary of War Pete Hegseth said the Iranians were miscalculating badly if they believed that the Americans were running out of munitions.
“We have only just begun to fight and fight decisively,” he told reporters. “Iran is hoping that we cannot sustain this, which is a really bad miscalculation.”
The war, he went on, will go on "as long as it takes to ensure the United States of America achieves its objectives. Our munitions are full up and our will is ironclad."
