The Israeli who will play alongside Messi: Idoh Zeltzer-Zubida signed with Inter Miami
The 21-year-old forward, son of media personality Hani Zubida, has signed a short-term contract with the team and will be on the roster for the next game against Columbus Crew
Inter Miami Club announced Sunday that it has signed a short-term agreement with striker Idoh Zeltzer-Zubida and will promote him from the club’s reserve team, Inter Miami 2. The 21-year-old Israeli-American player will be part of the team for their upcoming away match against Columbus Crew on Sunday, September 27.
As the cherry on top, Zeltzer-Zubida, who was born in the United States but grew up in Israel, may play his debut match alongside Lionel Messi, who has played for the club since 2023.
Idoh's father, Hani Zubida, an Israeli researcher and media personality, wrote on his X account following the news: "Well, it happened, and we are hoping for the best. Our Idoh is taking another step in the long journey that began at age 5 with Miki and Nir, moved on to the Wolfson complex, then to Kiryat Shalom, Barça Academy in Arizona, the South Florida academy, Maccabi Petah Tikva, and Inter Miami’s second team."

Before moving to the United States, Zeltzer-Zubida also played in the youth systems of Hapoel Tel Aviv and Maccabi Tel Aviv. He made his professional debut in 2024 with Inter Miami's reserve team in the MLS NEXT Pro league, and in his first season recorded three goals and one assist in 18 appearances.
In the 2025 season, he appeared in 25 matches and contributed four goals and seven assists. In the current 2026 season, Zeltzer-Zubida established himself as the top scorer for Inter Miami 2, with a career-high of ten goals and one assist. Over three seasons with the reserve team, the player accumulated 68 appearances, 17 goals, and nine assists.
