Trump admin. to block Abbas from entering US for UN Assembly - report
Turkey's Erdogan spoke with Trump this week to try and get him to change his decision on the matter, but according to Ynet the 'Trump admin. currently has no intention of changing its position'

The Trump administration intends to prevent Palestinian Authority President Mahmoud Abbas from entering the United States to attend and address the United Nations General Assembly in New York, according to American officials cited by Ynet.
The move would mark the second consecutive year that the United States has barred Abbas from entering the country to participate in the annual UN gathering.
According to the report, Abbas sought Turkish intervention in an effort to reverse the US decision, contacting Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan and asking him to raise the issue with President Donald Trump.
Erdogan spoke with Trump this week to try and get him to change his decision on the matter, but according to the report, the 'administration currently has no intention of changing its position.'
The reported move would not be unprecedented. In 2025, the Trump administration denied or revoked visas for members of the Palestinian Authority and PLO ahead of the UN General Assembly, preventing Mahmoud Abbas from attending in person.
