Trump weighs fresh Iran strikes before midterms amid gas price push - report
Even if strikes do go ahead before the election, further strikes are likely afterward anyway

The Pentagon has presented US President Donald Trump with a number of options to restart strikes against Iran before the midterms, The Atlantic reported on Wednesday.
Analysts had previously predicted that Trump would hold off on further strikes for fear they would harm his chances in the midterm elections.
The move is reportedly driven by Trump's push to reduce gas prices before the vote, according to two US officials.
Although the actual size and scope are still under consideration, the officials acknowledged that strikes alone would not end the war or lower gas prices before election day.
Even if strikes do go ahead before the election, further strikes are likely afterward anyway.
