F-16 fighter jets were deployed Sunday after two civilian aircraft entered restricted airspace around President Donald Trump’s golf club in Bedminster, New Jersey.

The North American Aerospace Defense Command (NORAD) said military aircraft intercepted the planes and safely escorted them out of the restricted area.

Both aircraft were privately operated general aviation planes rather than commercial flights. It remains unclear why the pilots entered the restricted airspace.

Temporary flight restrictions had been established around Trump’s Bedminster property, where the president arrived Friday to spend the weekend.

There was no immediate indication that the airspace violations were intentional or posed a security threat.
