US intelligence agencies have warned the Trump administration that Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu may take actions that could undermine Washington’s efforts to secure a lasting agreement with Iran, according to a report by The Washington Post.

The assessment reportedly reflects concerns that Netanyahu is facing growing domestic and political pressure to continue military operations in Lebanon, potentially conflicting with commitments outlined in the US-Iran memorandum of understanding signed earlier this week.

According to the report, US intelligence officials also mentioned Israel’s dissatisfaction with aspects of the agreement, which they say could weaken Jerusalem’s long-standing strategy of maintaining maximum pressure on Tehran.

The concerns come as tensions remain high along the Israel-Lebanon border. Earlier Friday, Netanyahu vowed a forceful response after four Israeli soldiers were killed in southern Lebanon, declaring that Israel would make Hezbollah "pay a very heavy price."

Iranian officials postponed talks that were scheduled to begin Friday in Switzerland, citing continued Israeli military activity in Lebanon. As a result, the US delegation has also delayed its departure for the negotiations.
