The US-Iran MoU has been signed and is now in effect | LIVE BLOG
US President Trump personally signed a copy of the agreement during a dinner with President Macron of France at the Palace of Versailles

On Wednesday, US President Donald Trump spoke before reporters at the closing of the G7 summit. He spoke about the MoU signed later that evening, and about the ongoing war in Lebanon. During his speech, Trump said that while he wants Isarel to be able to protect itself, he ‘wants them to use better judgement.’ While he referred to Netanyahu as a good partner, Trump accused the Prime Minister of getting a ‘little bit excited,’ stating the rhetorical question of why he is constantly blowing up buildings in Lebanon.
The MoU has officially been signed, but it appears as if the agreement has left out any input from Israel. A US official claimed that Netanyahu had been getting briefed ‘frequently’ about clauses of the MoU. However, this is contrary to previous reports stating the opposite which suggested that US officials went to lengths to hide their discussions from Israeli intelligence, going so far as to write notes on paper and hold meetings on US Naval vessels. It had even been reported that Netanyahu requested a copy of the MoU before it was released and was rejected. Trump says he does not consider the 60-day negotiating period a hard deadline to get a final agreement with Iran, but says if things do not work out, he would consider going back to military action.
