At least one person was killed and five others were injured in a shooting near a major rave in northern Switzerland early Sunday, according to local authorities.
Gunfire erupted shortly before 3 a.m. at the Aarau racetrack in the Schachen district, where approximately 3,500 people had gathered for the annual Aarauer Rave. The techno event began Saturday afternoon and continued into the early morning.
Police said multiple shots were fired amid a large crowd. One witness described hearing what sounded like a burst of gunfire.
A major security operation was launched immediately, and members of the public were instructed to avoid the surrounding area. The condition of the injured victims has not been disclosed.
Investigators are working to identify whoever was responsible and determine the motive for the attack. Authorities have not said whether any suspects have been arrested.
