UK communist admits terrorism offence after police uncover pro-Palestinian militant plans
Police seized multiple documents and books from Sean Grant's apartment relating to the establishment of clandestine urban guerrilla groups as well as possible targets

Sean Grant, 22, admitted his guilt during a hearing at the High Court in Glasgow on Monday.
Although extensive notes detailing terrorist plans were found by police, police found no evidence that any of the plans had been acted upon. As a result, Grant pleaded guilty to possession of a "document or record" which contained information "likely to be useful to a person committing or preparing an act of terrorism."
Grant, a member of the Communist Party of Britain as well as the party's youth wing, was caught when police arrived at his home in August 2025 on an unrelated matter.
Upon entering, police found "handwritten notes strewn across the bathroom floor as well as empty beer bottles," leading police to search the apartment.
As a result, police seized multiple documents and books relating to the establishment of clandestine urban guerrilla groups.
In one case, police found at least 50 pages of handwritten notes detailing plans for a “new pro-Palestinian militant organisation” using a “cell structure”.
Police also found books including the German terrorist organization Red Army Faction's "The Urban Guerrilla Concept" and the Irish Republican Army's "Green Book".
Further documents showed drawings and instructions for using homemade grenades and properly disposing of incriminating items.
In several notes, he writes of the "lies of the Zionist entity" and wrote that he was happy to oblige the state in "blurring the lines between non-violent and violent acts."
In his notes, Grant referred to "phase 3" of a plan to "launch a campaign of attacks" on "police targets," the "intelligence infrastructure" and British Army recruitment centres.
Grant told police he had been a member of the Communist Party of Great Britain since 2022 and had rejoined the youth wing in May 2025.
He also said that all the material found in the apartment was his own work and was not connected to any other people or organisations.
