'I carried a beheaded baby in my hands,' says Kibbutz Be’eri rescuer
Colonel (Res.) Golan Vach testified about the horrors he saw in Kibbutz Be’eri

Colonel (Res.) Golan Vach of the Israel Defense Forces (IDF) was one of the first rescuers to arrive in Kibbutz Be’eri after it was attacked by Hamas on October 7. On Thursday, he talked about the horror he saw during the operation.
"We found 20 victims, all laying dead. But when I entered one of the houses, I saw something I had never seen before," said Vach.
"There was a woman, laying in there, she was burning. She was shot in the back, and I could see that she was protecting a baby." Vach said that he was not sure about the age of the child, but estimated them to be not older than two.
"The baby was decapitated. I carried the baby with my on hands."
Kibbutz Be'eri observed some of the most violent massacre committed by Hamas on October 7. Terrorists there were seen shooting indiscriminately, throwing grenades in shelters, invading houses and setting them ablaze.
The battle for the Kibbutz liberation lasted until noon of October 9. It took another day to remove bodies of all the killed residents.
