A high-profile Israeli delegation arrived in Paris on Sunday to engage in crucial negotiations concerning the release of abductees taken by Hamas on October 7. 

The delegation is spearheaded by Dedi Barnea, the head of Israel's external security service, the Mossad, and Ronan Bar, the head of the internal security service, the Shin Bet. 

This development follows the arrival of other key international figures in Paris, including the Prime Minister of Qatar, the head of Egyptian intelligence, and the head of the CIA. 

This also follows a Hebrew media report that Israeli authorities have categorically denied an earlier report by The New York Times claiming significant advancements in negotiations regarding a hostage release deal. Sources within Israel have suggested that the report might represent either wishful thinking by American officials or an attempt to project the illusion of progress, adding, "I wish it were true, but unfortunately, this is not the case."
