Board of Peace sees Gaza deal within reach ahead of Kushner's Israel visit, i24NEWS told
Source close to board says gaps with Israel over roadmap are “really marginal,” as Kushner prepares to meet Netanyahu alongside Mladenov and Blair

Despite rising tensions in Gaza, the Board of Peace is projecting cautious optimism ahead of Kushner’s meetings in Israel.
Despite differences with Israel over the implementation of the Gaza Roadmap, and amid a rise in the number of lethal incidents in the Strip in recent days, a source close to the Board of Peace tells i24NEWS that ahead of Jared Kushner’s arrival in Israel, there is reason for optimism.
“In practice, the gaps are really marginal, and on a substantive, issue-by-issue basis, there is a good chance we will reach agreements,” the source said.
Kushner is expected to meet with Prime Minister Netanyahu and other senior Israeli officials, alongside Board of Peace High Representative for Gaza Nikolay Mladenov and Executive Board member Tony Blair.
According to the source, who spoke with i24NEWS, progress is being made on all fronts toward implementing the roadmap. The Board of Peace, he said, is listening to Israel’s concerns and making adjustments and improvements in an effort to ensure success.
“Everyone is committed to the same ultimate goal, which is not in dispute: the complete dismantling of Hamas, both its weapons and its rule — preferably through an agreement, and if not, by force.”
