Ben Gvir for Defense Minister, Gotliv for Justice Minister: Otzma Yehudit publishes coalition demands for the next government

Otzma Yehudit chairman Itamar Ben Gvir announced on Tuesday evening that his party will demand the Defense Ministry portfolio for himself and the Justice Ministry for MK Tally Gotliv in the next government.

As part of the defense program presented by Ben Gvir, Otzma Yehudit will demand voluntary emigration from Gaza and the West Bank, the end of a 'containment' security doctrine, the disarmament of the Palestinian Authority, and the arrest of officials who support terrorism.

The plan also includes altering the rules of engagement and providing backing for soldiers during disputes, increasing soldiers' salaries and providing land grants to combat soldiers, changing the IDF Code of Ethics, and opening elite units, including Unit 8200, to the entire population.

As part of the program presented by Otzma Yehudit, Gotliv is demanding the dismissal of the Attorney-General as a first step in forming the next government. The plan also includes appointing Supreme Court judges only after a hearing in the Knesset's Constitution Committee and the candidate's approval by a two-thirds majority.

The plan also includes the cancellation of the "candidate selection course," which, according to Gotliv, is used to screen judges, as well as reforms to the legal approach toward criminal organizations and terrorists, including harsher punishments and the creation of punitive deterrence.

Another section of the plan deals with removing the need for the State Attorney's approval for opening criminal investigation for offenses such as incitement, sedition, and calls for disobedience.
