"Fabricating stories of betrayal": Yair Golan files massive lawsuit against Sara Netanyahu
The chairman of "The Democrats" is suing the Prime Minister's wife after she made a statement in an interview on Channel 14 that implies he had prior knowledge of the October 7th attack
The chairman of "The Democrats", Major General (Res.) Yair Golan filed a massive lawsuit Thursday against Sara Netanyahu. "This lawsuit is not only about my good name or about what I did on October 7th. This is a civil indictment on behalf of an entire camp against a government that has lost all restraint," he said in a statement.
Golan stated that the Netanyahu family branded their detractors with the "mark of Cain for betrayal." The party chairman is now accusing the Netanyahus of attempting to rewrite history "to escape responsibility for the greatest disaster in the country’s history."
In the statement, Golan further went on to say, "Paranoia, it turns out, is a family business. Last week his wife fabricated stories of infidelity, and today Netanyahu is stitching together a secret conspiracy for me with Mohammed Dahlan and Shlomi Eldar. Netanyahu does not stop lying and covering up. The tighter the political rope gets around his neck, the more dangerous he becomes. When he feels that power is slipping from his grasp, there is no lie he will not tell, no red line he will not cross. This is a despicable attempt. This is the method: erase the facts, switch the guilty parties, distort reality, and trample the truth to save himself. We are putting an end to this."

Golan's attorney, Adv. Giora Erdinast, said about Sara Netanyahu's remarks: "Any reasonable person listening to these statements understands that there is a very blatant insinuation, about as subtle as an elephant, that Yair Golan knew in advance about the massacre taking place and didn't share this information with anyone. These are nonsense and incitement that make Yair Golan fair game and put him in real danger that someone will pick up on the hint and take action."
On August 31, Prime Minister Netanyahu's wife was interviewed on Channel 14, where she made a claim implying that Yair Golan knew about the October 7 attack in advance, before the Prime Minister: "You claim that you are a fighter on October 7, you were already there early in the morning, already dressed and ready. At a very early hour, when others did not know, such as the Prime Minister."
