As Israel's political climate heats up alongside the summer weather, campaigning for the 26th Knesset elections is intensifying. This week's agenda includes political alliances, new party launches, key decisions by the Central Elections Committee, and the rollout of election campaigns.
An i24NEWS/Direct Polls survey, conducted by Tzuriel Sharon, examined how these latest developments are reshaping the electoral map. The results show Naftali Bennett's party losing ground, dropping two seats, while the new party led by Gilad Erdan and Yuli Edelstein, set to be officially launched today, fails to cross the electoral threshold.
If the elections were held today, this is what the seat map would look like. Likud drops by one seat to 28 seats. Yashar rises by two seats to 23. The Democrats remain stable with 10 seats. United Torah Judaism gains one seat and receives 9 seats. Yisrael Beiteinu remains stable with 9 seats. Otzma Yehudit holds its position with 8 seats. Shas loses one seat and stands at 8 seats, and the Joint List rises by one seat to 8.
Bennett's Together party registers a sharp drop of two seats, receiving 7. The Religious Zionism party remains stable and keeps its 5 seats. The Ra’am party also receives the same number of seats, maintaining 5.
Not passing the electoral threshold: the Beit Tzioni party of Yoav Hendel and Chili Tropper, the new party of Erdan and Edelstein, Moshe Feiglin's Zehut party, Benny Gantz's Blue and White, Yaron Zelekha's Economic Party, and Avi Maoz's Noam LeIsrael party.
In terms of the bloc picture in the poll, the coalition stands at 58 seats—not enough to form a majority; the opposition stands at 49 seats, and the Arab parties have 13 seats.
The survey was conducted by Direct Polls Ltd., headed by Tzuriel Sharon, for i24NEWS on August 6, 2026. It surveyed 535 Israeli adults (18+) using a digital polling system combined with an online panel. The sample is representative of Israel's general population, with a margin of error of ±4.2% at a 95% confidence level.'
