Tally Gotliv attacks in an interview with i24NEWS: "Winter is a right-winger of the kind the left likes"

Likud MK Tally Gotliv spoke Thursday in an interview with Eliraz Sadeh on “Talking News,” saying, “Winter is the kind of right-winger the left loves to love — a statesmanlike, buttoned-up right-winger who will not touch the rule of the bureaucrats or restrain their intolerable power.” Gotliv also said, "If the ruling party doesn't receive a very high number of mandates, you'll get Mansour Abbas, who said he doesn't recognize a Jewish state, but only says so to be disqualified from the Knesset."

The Knesset member attacked Ofer Winter over the establishment of his party, Amcha Yisrael. "The fact that he is a brave commander does not make him a good statesman. There is a long way from here to causing the Supreme Court not to intervene in diplomatic, military and political matters. Someone who is incapable of talking during his campaign about restraining the High Court’s power ultimately receives thunderous applause from Haaretz.”

Regarding the primaries in the Likud party, Gotliv said: "It was David versus Goliath, but still I received nearly 26,000 votes from people who came to vote for Tally Gotliv and placed me at number 12 on the list."

Asked about the possibility that Netanyahu would appoint her as a minister, Gotliv said: "You know to whom prophecy was given. I am not interested in being the Minister of Science or Tourism. I have nothing to contribute to that position, and it does not interest me. If I am not a minister, I will be a dedicated and excellent Knesset member, as I have been for the last four years. I managed to defeat Miara in the Knesset, to be the terror of the judges in the Supreme Court."

Addressing contacts with other right-wing parties, Gotliv said: “Ben Gvir approached me; it’s no secret. He approached me even before the primaries. ‘Otzma Yehudit’ is an excellent right-wing party, but at this time, if we do not maintain Likud’s strength, we will lose to Eisenkot the right to receive the mandate to form a government.”

Despite reports of strained relations with the Prime Minister, the Knesset member insisted that there is no basis for these claims: "Netanyahu supports me. I never ask the Prime Minister for a supportive video or a statement in my favor. I don’t need it, and I don’t want it. He knows there is no one more loyal to the government than I am, and no one has protected the government like I have, with all the personal prices I have paid. He also knows what electoral power I have. I say to his advisors: be careful not to trip him up. Netanyahu’s circle and advisors are making a serious mistake in thinking that I am losing votes to Likud. If they continue like this, I will run the campaign entirely by myself."
