Yair Golan lashes out at the president: 'Herzog is laying groundwork for a unity government with Netanyahu'
The chairman of the Democrats Party addressed reports that President Isaac Herzog is working to form a unity government led by Netanyahu and Eisenkot if there is no decisive outcome in the elections

The chairman of the Democrats party, Yair Golan, published a video on Wednesday in which he called out President Isaac Herzog. Golan's statement follows reports that the president is working to form a unity government between the two parties that will receive the highest number of votes in the elections, headed by Benjamin Netanyahu and Gadi Eisenkot.
In the video, Yair Golan addressed the public about what he called a clear and present danger. “Even before we voted, even before the people spoke, Herzog and the mouthpieces are already paving the way for ‘unity’ with Netanyahu. This is how it starts. They try to discourage you. To convince you that all is lost. That Netanyahu will remain in any case. That there is no point in fighting. I’m telling you: this is a lie,” Golan said.

Golan admonished Netanyahu, saying, "So what are all those who talk about 'unity' with Netanyahu really telling us? Forget. Forget October 7th. Forget who is responsible for the worst failure in the history of the country. Who abandoned the hostages. Who funded mass draft-dodging during wartime. Who looted the public treasury, shattered democracy, incited, lied, and tore this nation to shreds."
The Democrats party chairman finished his statement by excoriating Netanyahu, "And now they want us to give him four more years. Four more years of destruction, corruption, abandonment. Four more years that will endanger the very future of Israel as a Jewish and democratic state. We must not let this happen."
