Yesh Atid lawmaker Yoav Segalovich announced on Thursday that he is resigning from the Knesset, ending his tenure after serving as a member of parliament since 2019.

In a statement, Segalovich said it had been a privilege to promote issues important to him during his time in the Knesset and as deputy minister of public security. He thanked Yesh Atid leader Yair Lapid, fellow lawmakers and party activists for their trust and partnership, and wished success to Yesh Atid and the Together Party.

"Over the years, I have had the privilege of influencing issues close to my heart, both as a member of Knesset and as Deputy Minister of Public Security," Segalovich said. "I thank Yair Lapid, my colleagues and party activists for their partnership, trust and joint work for the State of Israel."

Yesh Atid chairman Yair Lapid praised Segalovich's service, saying he had "acted with integrity and professionalism for the citizens of Israel and to uphold the rule of law."

Lapid also highlighted their cooperation in the previous "change government," saying the two had worked together to combat crime in Israel, and thanked Segalovich for his contribution to both the party and the country.

Segalovich's resignation comes amid broader political changes within Israel's opposition, as reports continue to circulate about possible political realignments involving Yesh Atid and other opposition parties.
