Yoseph Haddad in talks to join forces with former Givati brigade commander Ofer Winter
The former senior IDF officer, Winter, who was previously recorded hinting at a possible entry into politics, is expected to unveil his new party next week
Another figure is joining the political arena: Brigadier General (res.) Ofer Winter is expected to announce the establishment of a new party next week. Ahead of the announcement, he is holding talks with pro-Israel advocacy activist Yoseph Haddad and bereaved mother Lili Deri.
Last June, i24NEWS published recordings of Winter, which shed light on the details of the forthcoming announcement.
In the recordings, Winter—who had already begun engaging in political activity and building a grassroots network at that time— says that he is interested in a list of “new” politicians, whose names have not been associated with the disaster of October 7. “I’m also talking about this, about new blood. I’ve been given all kinds of offers. I’m not looking for a seat,” he said.
Earlier this year, it was first reported on i24NEWS that Haddad had begun forming a party and searching for investors. A poll predicts four seats for Haddad.
