Israelis hold pro-Trump rally at US embassy in Jerusalem

Caravan of several dozen cars with US and Israeli flags rolls from Tel Aviv to the capital
Israelis held a small rally on Tuesday in support of US President Donald Trump at the American embassy in Jerusalem.
The participants made it into the capital in a caravan of several dozen vehicles adorned with US and Israeli flags.
The event, organized by Republicans Overseas Israel, came just days ahead of the November 3 presidential vote in the US, where Trump is to face off with Democratic nominee Joe Biden.
Recent polls indicated that Biden had the backing of almost 75 percent of US Jewry -- but at the same time, the US Orthodox community appeared to be rallying around Trump.
Another poll, conducted for i24NEWS, showed that Trump was more popular in Israel as well, with some 63 percent of respondents saying he was better for the Jewish state.
As Trump took over the Oval office after defeating Hillary Clinton in the 2016 elections, the US-Israel ties were tense in the wake of the 2015 Iran nuclear deal and US silence on a United Nations Security Council (UNSC) resolution against Israeli settlements.
Trump, however, has a long record of moves praised by Israel, including relocating the US embassy to Jerusalem from Tel Aviv and recognizing the Golan Heights as part of Israel.
More recently, the US president played a pivotal role in Israel's normalization accords with the UAE, Bahrain and Sudan -- and said Tuesday there were more nations that will forge ties with the Jewish state soon.
