Record North American aliyah as over 2,000 Olim arrive over summer

Over 2,000 North Americans have made aliyah this summer, with over 1,000 just in August, Nefesh B'Nefesh announced on Thursday.
2026 is set to be one of the strongest years for aliyah from North America as over 1,000 Olim arrived over the course of August with nearly 100 arriving on Thursday morning alone.
With a record-breaking summer, Nefesh B'Nefesh estimates that by the end of the year nearly 4,000 Olim will have arrived in Israel from North America.
Young singles dominated the demographics of summer Olim, with over 1,000 singles arriving as well as 480 families and 250 retirees. The average age of summer Olim is just 29, with ages ranging between five and 98 years old.
“As we recently celebrated our 100,000th Oleh, it is particularly inspiring to see so many young people choosing to make Israel their home, to build their careers and families here, put down roots and invest their futures in this country," Rabbi Yehoshua Fass, co-founder and executive director of Nefesh B’Nefesh, said.
Around 700 children who made aliyah this summer will enter the Israeli school system this September.
While the majority of the Olim will relocate to Jerusalem and Tel Aviv, around 650 are moving to Israel's periphery in the north and the south.
