'All terrorist activities in Gaza including kite flying must cease,' the Board of Peace tells Hamas

Hamas was informed by Gaza's Board of Peace that all terrorist activities, including the launching of kites, must stop, as Israel warned it could intensify military operations if such incidents continue.
A member of the Board Peace told i24NEWS on Tuesday that they "conveyed this message directly through the established mechanism.”
However, the official stressed that the ceasefire also imposes obligations on Israel.
“Israel must also respect the ceasefire agreement. Military action must be limited to responses to real and immediate threats,” the official added.
The comments came after Israel asked the Board of Peace to ensure that the launching of kites, balloons and drones from Gaza ends within three days. Israeli authorities suspect Hamas is behind the incidents and believe the launches are intended to test Israel’s response and level of preparedness.
According to Israel’s Kan broadcaster, the Board of Peace agrees that the launches must stop but has acknowledged the difficulty of controlling objects that can be easily made and launched. The member of the Board of Peace said the kites that had crossed the border so far were not carrying weapons or incendiary materials.
In Gaza, popular committees, including those responsible for camps housing displaced people, have urged parents to prevent their children from flying kites. An official told Reuters that the directive had been coordinated with Hamas authorities.
