CENTCOM confirmed that the US fired at the Panama-flagged container ship in the Gulf of Oman. Forces targeted the vessel's steering gear and engine room after its crew ignored repeated radio warnings and attempted to breach the ongoing US naval blockade targeting Iranian ports.

Yemeni officials told the Associated Press that six people were killed Tuesday when Houthi forces struck a commercial vessel transiting the Bab el-Mandeb strait.
