IDF begins targeted ground operations against Hezbollah inside Lebanon
“This operation is aimed at removing threats and creating an additional layer of security for residents in northern Israel,” the military said

The Israel Defense Forces (IDF) have initiated limited but focused ground operations in southern Lebanon, targeting key Hezbollah positions as part of an effort to reinforce Israel’s forward defense line along its northern border.
The moves come amid rising tensions in the region and ongoing military operations in the broader conflict with Iranian-backed groups.
According to the IDF, soldiers from the 91st Division are working to dismantle Hezbollah infrastructure and neutralize militants operating in southern Lebanon. “This operation is aimed at removing threats and creating an additional layer of security for residents in northern Israel,” the military said.
The ground operations follow extensive preliminary strikes by the IDF using artillery and airpower, which targeted terrorist sites in southern Lebanon to reduce immediate threats before the deployment of troops.
The IDF emphasized that the 91st Division is coordinating with the 146th Division, which continues to secure communities in the Galilee region. “At the same time, our soldiers maintain defensive missions to protect Israeli towns while carrying out forward operations,” the spokesperson added.

Israel has accused Hezbollah of joining the conflict under the sponsorship of the Iranian regime. The IDF warned that it will act decisively to prevent attacks on Israeli civilians while targeting terrorist infrastructure in Lebanon.
This operation is part of the ongoing Operation Roaring Lion, in which the IDF has combined airstrikes, artillery fire, and targeted ground operations to counter threats from Iranian-backed groups in Lebanon and Iran.
