IDF strike in Beirut kills 5 senior Iranian Quds Force commanders
The IDF says commanders from Iran's Lebanon and Palestine corps were meeting at a hotel when targeted in an overnight naval strike

The IDF said it carried out a precise overnight strike in Beirut that killed five senior commanders from the Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps Quds Force's Lebanon and Palestine Corps. The operation was directed by precise IDF intelligence, according to the military.
The IDF said the commanders were targeted while meeting at a hotel in the Lebanese capital. According to the military, the Quds Force's Lebanon Corps serves as a central liaison between Hezbollah and the Iranian regime, coordinating activities among various armed groups operating in Lebanon.
"It can now be revealed that three key Quds Force commanders were eliminated in the strike," the IDF said in a statement. They included Majid Hosseini, who the military said was responsible for transferring funds to Iranian-backed groups in Lebanon, including Hezbollah and Hamas, and for financing weapons production to advance Hezbollah's military activity.
The IDF also identified Ali Reza Biazar as the head of the intelligence branch of the Quds Force's Lebanon Corps. The military said Biazar "was considered a significant source of expertise in the field of intelligence research" and gathered intelligence for Hezbollah as part of his role.
Ahmad Rasouli, identified by the IDF as the intelligence officer of the Quds Force's Palestine Corps, was also killed in the strike. According to the military, Rasouli was responsible for collecting intelligence for Palestinian armed groups in Lebanon and the Gaza Strip.
Two additional figures were also killed, the IDF said. They were Hossein Ahmadlou, described as an intelligence operative gathering information on Israel for terrorist purposes, and Abu Mohammad Ali, identified as Hezbollah's representative in the Palestine Corps, who maintained coordination between the organization and the corps.

The strike followed the killing last week of Daoud Ali Zadeh, commander of the Quds Force's Lebanon Corps, according to the IDF. The military said the latest operation is part of ongoing efforts during Operation Roaring Lion targeting Iranian-linked commanders in the region, adding that it "will not allow the Iranian terror regime elements to establish themselves in Lebanon and will continue to precisely eliminate the commanders of the Iranian terror regime wherever they operate."
