New details have emerged about an alleged Iranian plot to assassinate one of Prime Minister Netanyahu’s sons.
Newsmax reported that Yair Netanyahu was targeted while living in South Florida, citing a source familiar with the matter. The report follows the prime minister’s disclosure last week that Iran had sought to kill one of his children.
According to the source, Israeli intelligence uncovered the plot in December and alerted US authorities.
Officials reportedly believed that Iranian operatives were already in the Miami area 'on the ground' and were monitoring Yair Netanyahu’s residence and movements.
Yair, who was under the protection of an Israeli security detail, was instructed to leave the United States immediately, the source said. He reportedly departed without collecting his belongings and returned to Israel, where he now lives.
