"The latest escalation proves that, in practice, Erdogan’s defense pact isn’t worth the paper it’s written on," the official said.

"Erdogan has handed Israel a golden opportunity to show the Saudis who they should align with."

"Israel and Saudi Arabia share interests, and recent events could also reopen the path toward expanding the Abraham Accords." This comes on the sixth anniversary of the signing of the accords in the first Trump administration.

"You asked for assistance, and Israel knew how to help," the official continued. "Know who your friends are."

The same source said Saudi Arabia was now "assessing its options" as a result of Turkey and Pakistan’s inaction.
