Israel’s security cabinet convened on Thursday night following recent developments in its ongoing military operation in Iran. Officials reported significant progress against the regime’s military infrastructure, including the destruction of air defenses and a majority — 60 percent — of missile launchers.

Israeli security sources told i24NEWS that sustained strikes have targeted key regime installations, with a high level of coordination with the United States. The officials expressed satisfaction in the progress of the operation, with both operational outcomes and bilateral coordination.

Sources indicated that Israel expects at least another week of intensive "pounding" against regime and military targets in Iran. Operations are reportedly continuing at a high tempo to degrade Iran’s offensive capabilities and infrastructure.

Officials also outlined plans to gradually reduce the pace of strikes once key targets have been neutralized. The aim, according to statements from both the Prime Minister and US leadership, is to create conditions for internal changes in Iran, including potential political shifts.

Israel and US officials have framed the ongoing operations as preparing the groundwork for a change in power, allowing the Iranian people to return to the streets and bring about the fall of the regime.

Security cabinet discussions emphasized maintaining operational momentum while coordinating closely with Washington. Officials noted that precision strikes and intelligence cooperation remain central to the campaign.
