Iran claims to have reached an interim arrangement with Oman to establish a temporary transit route through Iranian territorial waters in the Strait of Hormuz. Iranian officials emphasized that the strategic maritime chokepoint will not fully reopen until the US meets its commitments under prior agreements, while President Masoud Pezeshkian dismissed incoming US sanctions. Concurrently, Tehran declared several foreign Persian-language media outlets as military targets, accusing them of intelligence ties to Washington and Israel.

Tanker hit by projectile, catches fire in Strait of Hormuz

A tanker caught fire after being struck by gunfire in the Strait of Hormuz, Britain’s Maritime Trade Operations agency reported. No crew members were injured in the incident.
