A 19-year-old Palestinian was killed by alleged Israel Defense Forces (IDF) gunfire during overnight clashes in the West Bank town of Beit Rima, northwest of Ramallah, the Palestinian Ma'an news reports.
The Palestinian Health Ministry named him as Ahmed Hazim Atallah Rimawi, according to the report.
Ma'an quoted sources at the scene as saying that Rimawi was hit in the chest and died while being transferred to a hospital in Salfit.
An Israeli army spokeswoman said that there was a "violent riot" at Beit Rima but could not confirm the death.
"Dozens of rioters hurled rocks at security forces injuring a border police soldier," she said.
"In order to prevent an escalation of violence forces responded with riot dispersal means, and fired toward main instigators," she added.
"We have reports of a rioter killed and another injured and they're being looked into," but were so far unverified, the spokeswoman told AFP.
Rimawi's father had previously spent 15 years in Israeli prison, said Ma'an.
Since October 2015, 244 Palestinians, 36 Israelis, two Americans, a Jordanian, an Eritrean and a Sudanese national have been killed, according to an AFP count.
