Father says murdered daughter Rina Shnerb a 'martyr of the people of Israel'
Hundreds attend funeral of 17-year-old Rina at Lod; 'Let’s not deal with anger,' says injured father

Seventeen-year-old Israeli Rina Shnerb from Lod was killed Friday in a terror attack when she was hiking with her family at a popular spring near the Dolev settlement in the West Bank.
An improvised explosive device (IED) detonated in close approximation to the family, killing Rina and injuring her father Eitan Shnerb and her 19-year-old brother Dvir.
The father, 46, was moderately injured while Dvir was critically injured but brought to a stable condition following a successful operation, the Hadassah Ein Kerem Hospital spokeswoman said Friday evening.
Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu called the hospitalized rabbi, telling him “myself and the people of Israel mourn with you,” Hebrew-language YNnet news outlet reported. “I wish you and your son a full recovery."
Shnerb told the premier that his daughter was "a martyr of the people of Israel. With God’s help we will grow stronger, we will build more, study more Torah, be stronger, my wife and I, this is our message."
'Difficult war of love versus hate'
Hundreds of Israelis attended Rina’s funeral Friday afternoon at the New Lod Cemetery.
“Rina was all about fully giving and and being honest with her surroundings. She came from a productive family that brings hearts together. She was a good person to everyone,” family relative, Nadav Shenhav, said at the funeral according to Ynet.
“She only celebrated her birthday a few days ago,” he continued, “I haven’t had the chance to say goodbye.”
Rina’s uncle Henry Weisberg delivered a eulogy that spoke of 'how big our struggle here is and how difficult this war of love versus hate, hope versus despair, light versus darkness is,” Israel’s Channel 12 reported.
“Let’s not deal with weakness, anger or quarrel. Let us be worthy of the sacrifice we’ve sacrificed today.”
