King of Morocco Mohamed VI addressed a letter to Israel's President Isaac Herzog thanking him for an earlier message, and expressing confidence that normalization between Morocco and Israel would promote peace in the Middle East.

Herzog's letter to Mohamed VI was delivered during an official visit to Morocco by Israel's Alternate Prime Minister and Foreign Minister Yair Lapid earlier this month.

"I am pleased with the steps taken for the resumption of contacts between our two countries," the letter, sent from the Royal Palace in Fez, read. "I am convinced that we shall make this momentum sustainable in order to promote the prospects of peace for all peoples in the region."
