In retaliatory move, Israel announces South Africa's Palestine envoy persona non grata
South Africa declared Israel's chargé d'affaires persona non grata, accusing him of "unacceptable violations of diplomatic norms and practice which pose a direct challenge to sovereignty"

South Africa has declared Israel's chargé d'affaires Ariel Seidman persona non grata, its foreign affairs ministry said on Friday, drawing an immediate retaliatory move from Israel.
Seidman is required to depart from the country within 72 hours, the ministry said in a statement on its website.
It accused Seidman of "unacceptable violations of diplomatic norms and practice which pose a direct challenge to South Africa's sovereignty."
Israel issued a statement saying "South Africa’s senior diplomatic representative, Minister Shaun Edward Byneveldt, is persona non grata and must leave Israel within 72 hours."
Byneveldt's official title is the ambassador to Palestine.
