The United States is pressing Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu to publicly condemn settlers accused of besieging Palestinian homes in the West Bank village of Qusra, Reuters reported Friday, citing US and Israeli officials.

The pressure followed reports that settlers had cut water and electricity to several homes and blocked residents from entering or leaving. One of the homes belongs to a Palestinian-American, according to Reuters.

US Ambassador to Israel Mike Huckabee on Thursday condemned those involved as “Israeli terrorists,” subsequently clarifying that he words were aimed at a "violent minority" of West Bank settlers.

The United Nations said about 15 Palestinians, including two children, had been trapped in the homes without running water or electricity.

Reuters footage from Qusra showed settlers gathered near a tent outside one of the homes before Israeli soldiers arrived. The IDF said troops removed the tent and were operating in the area to protect residents and maintain security.

Netanyahu has not publicly commented on the incident.
