'See you in Israel': Hungary's new PM accepts Herzog's invitation
Herzog praised the shared struggle for freedom that unites both countries, while Baka spoke about Hungary's commitment to fighting antisemitism

President Isaac Herzog met Hungary's new president, András Baka and Prime Minister Peter Magyar in Budapest on Tuesday.
Herzog arrived in Budapest for a day-long visit. He was received by President Baka at the Sándor Palace.
Herzog praised the shared struggle for freedom that unites both countries, saying, "History has taught both of our nations that freedom and autonomy cannot be taken for granted. And that it is a value that is worth protecting and defending, even at great cost."
Baka spoke about Hungary's commitment to fighting antisemitism and ensuring that Hungary remains a safe place for Jewish people.
Later in the day Herzog met Prime Minister Magyar at the Hungarian parliament where they discussed ways to address the various challenges facing the Middle East and Europe.
Herzog expressed his appreciation for the Hungarian government’s clear and unequivocal stand against antisemitism and invited Prime Minister Magyar to visit Israel.
Magyar accepted the offer, saying, "See you in Israel."
Magyar recently toppled Viktor Orbán, Hungary's prime minister of 16 years, in elections last May.
