Shin Bet approves security detail for Gadi Eisenkot ahead of election
David Zini authorized the granting of personal protection to the president of the Yashar party, while no final decision has yet been made regarding Yair Golan

Shin Bet chief David Zini has approved close protection for Gadi Eisenkot, the former IDF chief of staff who leads the Yashar party, according to the report provided.
The agency’s unit for protecting senior figures will now decide how the security detail will operate.
The decision follows authorization from a Knesset committee several weeks ago allowing Zini to assess whether Eisenkot should receive personal protection. The question has drawn attention as Israel approaches its legislative election and the campaign grows more tense.
A decision on protection for Democrats party leader Yair Golan is still pending. Threats against him have reportedly been recorded in recent weeks, but the Shin Bet has not announced whether it will assign him a security detail.
