The event of the "Otzma Yehudit" party comes after a petition against Ben Gvir's participation in a police appreciation event. In the opinion of the Attorney General, who supported the petition, it was argued that this constituted the use of police resources for electioneering purposes.
The petition was rejected by the Chairman of the Election Committee, Justice Noam Sohlberg, but it was clarified that no party would be permitted to engage in election campaigning in any form at this event. Ben Gvir claimed that this was a "state and professional" event, and committed not to make any campaign statements at the event.
