Barista in Netanyahu café video becomes unexpected international internet star

A day after a video of Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu visiting a Jerusalem café went viral online, attention has shifted from the political message to an unexpected figure in the background: a teenage barista who briefly appeared serving coffee.

The clip, filmed at the HaSataf café in Jerusalem and released by the Prime Minister’s Office, shows Netanyahu addressing rumors circulating on social media about his health and condition. 

While the video was intended as a direct response to online conspiracy theories, many viewers instead focused on the smiling employee seen behind the counter.

Social media users quickly began sharing screenshots of the young barista, with some posts gaining hundreds of thousands of views on the platform X. 

One widely circulated comment claimed the employee had “done more to fight antisemitism in 24 hours than the Anti-Defamation League has in years,” reflecting the viral tone of the discussion.

According to posts from the account “Global Updates,” the teenager effectively became an internet celebrity after appearing in the clip while serving coffee to the Israeli leader. Users across multiple languages, including Spanish, shared memes and commentary about the moment.
