Man murdered, families fight, two suspects killed in police shootout in East Jerusalem
A man around 30 years old was shot to death, and another wounded person was evacuated in critical condition; police say two suspects endangered the lives of the officers during a confrontation
A man, around 30 years old, was murdered in a violent incident amid a family dispute Saturday night in East Jerusalem. Magen David Adom teams who arrived at the scene found the victim showing no signs of life, with penetrating injuries, and were forced to pronounce him dead. Another wounded individual was evacuated from the scene in critical condition.
Following the murder, the night escalated further in Silwan between the families, during which, according to the police, live gunfire was used, fireworks were fired, and Molotov cocktails were thrown.

Police forces and Border Police officers who arrived at the scene identified two suspects who, according to the police, posed a real threat to their lives, as they were holding bladed weapons and Molotov cocktails. The forces fired at them to neutralize the threats and they were killed on the spot, according to police officials.
Additional large police forces were called to the scene and worked to restore public order. The Jerusalem District Commander, Commissioner Avshalom Peled, arrived at the scene and held a situation assessment with the force commanders and officers. The investigation of the murder was assigned to the Crime Fighting Unit of the Kedem District.
