Ongoing investigation: Two children stabbed in Beit Shemesh by deranged neighbor

A serious incident occurred Tuesday afternoon in Beit Shemesh, where two children, aged 4 and 6, were found injured in their home on Emek HaZeitim Street.
The children’s father discovered them after returning home and immediately contacted emergency services. Magen David Adom (MDA) teams arrived at the scene and provided the children with initial medical treatment. One of the children was in critical condition and was evacuated to hospital while unconscious. The condition of the second child was not immediately available.
According to preliminary police findings, a neighbor is suspected of attacking the two children. Police arrested a suspect in connection with the incident, and a psychiatric evaluation is expected to be carried out to assess his mental state at the time of the alleged attack.
MDA’s emergency dispatch center received the initial report at approximately 4:40 pm, stating that two children had been injured inside a residence on Emek HaZeitim Street. Police officers arrived shortly afterward and opened an investigation into the circumstances surrounding the incident.
The Israel Police said: “Police forces are handling a violent incident in Beit Shemesh. According to a report received from rescue services, two minors, aged 4 and 6, were found inside an apartment with signs of violence.
