Hezbollah cluster bomb kills student, injures 23 on school trip in northern Israel
IDF estimated that this is a cluster bomb that was launched at the Ramim Ridge between mid-March and early April

A preliminary investigation into an explosion of unexploded ordnance that killed one student and injured 23 others in northern Israel on Monday suggests that the device was a cluster munition launched at the area between mid-March and early April.
Students at the scene told rescue teams they had seen additional unexploded munitions in the area.
The IDF's Northern Command estimates that thousands of unexploded munitions remain scattered across northern Israel following the war, most of them from Hezbollah attacks.
Following the incident, Education Minister Yoav Kisch is considering temporarily suspending school trips in northern Israel.
Police Commissioner Dani Levy told reporters that, to the best of his knowledge, the school trip had been approved by the relevant authorities. However, he added that he was also considering ordering a halt to school trips in the area.
The school trip near Ma'alot-Tarshiha had proceeded along the Ramim Ridge trail despite a sign posted by the Jewish National Fund prohibiting entry to the trail and surrounding forests due to ongoing restoration work.
The JNF clarified following the incident that the warning sign remains in effect.
