Germany selects Israel's Elbit Systems to provide police with night vision systems
Elbit's XACT night vision goggles have already been selected by a number of militaries
The German unit of Israeli defense electronics company Elbit Systems Ltd won German Interior Ministry's tender to supply night vision systems for the German Federal Police.

This decision by the German Federal Police follows one by the German Armed Forces that are already using the XACT nv33 NVG goggles in various missions to combat organized crime and international terrorism.
The XACT nv33 is a lightweight binocular image intensifier that can be mounted on a wide variety of helmets and can also be used hand-held. It is noted for its compact dimensions, light weight and the capacity to operate in absolute darkness.
In addition to Germany, Elbit's XACT night vision goggles have already been selected by a number of militaries, including Australia, Israel and the Netherlands.
Thomas Nützel, CEO of Elbit Systems Deutschland, said that “after the establishment of our night vision systems with the German Armed Forces, we are very proud to serve the German Federal Police in the field of electro-optics. Our image intensifier goggles will expand the capabilities of the federal officers and support them in the fight against crime.”
Elbit Systems was founded in 1966 and is headquartered in the northern city of Haifa. It operates in areas including aerospace, land and naval systems, communications and surveillance.
