Vice President JD Vance told The New York Post the conflict’s initial phase, aimed at weakening Iran’s nuclear and military capabilities. “We can’t predict the future, but I think the president is right to say that this thing will enter a much different phase in a couple of months,”
He said the next phase will focus on preventing Iran from rebuilding while maintaining global stability, adding that traffic through the Strait of Hormuz has recovered to more than half of normal levels despite continued attacks on commercial vessels.
