Putin admits Russia supplies Iran with 'necessary equipment' in war against US
Pezeshkian, meanwhile, expressed confidence in Iran’s campaign, telling the Russian leader: “I am certain that we will win.”

Russian President Vladimir Putin said Tuesday that Moscow is providing Iran with equipment and other assistance amid its war with the United States, marking his first public acknowledgment of such support.
Speaking during a meeting with Iranian President Masoud Pezeshkian, Putin said Russia was seeking to assist Tehran during what he described as a difficult period.
“We are trying to provide you with the assistance you need during this difficult time,” Putin said. “We have discussed this matter, and we are supplying you with the necessary equipment.”
Putin did not specify what equipment Russia was providing or whether it included military supplies. He said only that Moscow was delivering essential goods and other forms of assistance to Tehran.
Pezeshkian, meanwhile, expressed confidence in Iran’s campaign, telling the Russian leader: “I am certain that we will win.”
The two presidents met on the sidelines of the Shanghai Cooperation Organization summit in Bishkek, Kyrgyzstan. Their talks focused on bilateral relations and ways to strengthen cooperation between their countries.
According to statements issued following the meeting, Putin and Pezeshkian discussed expanding collaboration across a range of sectors. Putin praised what he called the Iranian people’s “courage and resourcefulness” in defending their interests.
The Russian president also said Moscow and Tehran were maintaining the momentum in their economic and trade relations over the past year. Both leaders emphasized their countries’ solidarity and coordination on the international stage.
